The Stone Prince Gena Showalter 9780373770076 Books

I have read so many Showalter books and loved all of them. This is now added it to the list and I really enjoyed it.
I love the I-am-man-you-are-woman-&-I-will-protect-you deal in most stories (yes, I am that kind of woman) but I do love how Katie wasn't just going to let Jorlan walk all over her. This was really touching and very funny and it was great to read about 2 love stories within one book.
I can't wait to start my next Showalter novel! Xoxo ❤️❤️❤️

The Stone Prince Gena Showalter 9780373770076 Books Reviews

I have to admit that I was embarrassed at first to be reading this book. I like Katie, she's tough, she's fully capable of handling things on her own and taking care of herself, but really ... falling in love with a statue?? AND, his name is Jorlan! Ugh, I mean, c'mon!!
That said, the book was far more humorous than I originally thought it would be. I found myself laughing out loud during several parts of it (Jorlan's "weapons" spring to mind). It was very romantic and very sweet. I liked that it was completely different, that was very cool. Not just another same ole, same ole kinda story.
Definitely give this book a read, it is a good one.
I loved the entire thing. The main characters were just so different yet they clicked and everything they did and said was right. I loved them. Most interestingly is that the villain , Percen , got a happy ending even though he was pretty messed up. I liked that he could be redeemed and saved. Man, I cried and felt so much at the end it literally squeezed my heart (\>_</) Seriously though Gena Showalter is the bomb at writing these kinds of stories, worlds, romances, and characters. Really wish there were more stories on Katie's brothers, they seemed interesting. But yeah. Amazingly out of this world, you have to read it!!
Katie James has had nothing but dating disasters, in her book anyways. She buys houses and flips them for a living, she's very good at it too. Her current house, a Victorian with a pleasure garden complete with statues. One statue calls to Katie, she finds herself drawn to him. One night after work she's admiring the statue, when a voice tells her to come closer and kiss him. On impulse she does and finds herself face to face with a live gorgeous arrogant man. Katie is 6' so anyone taller and hot is hard to find! I would know trust me!! Although she is drawn in by his height and looks his mouth screws it up by being a controlling arrogant man with `a woman's purpose is to serve a man' mentality. That doesn't work for Katie, the outcome is amusing! I really liked their relationship evolvement and her 5 brothers. They were great, all nonsense n games and protective of their sister. I really liked this story about family loyalty and trusting love. Gena Showalter never disappoints, from the dark lords of the underworld to fun romantic comedies!
I recently discovered Gena Showalter and have been reading her pre-paranormal books as fast as I can find them. (I'm not crazy about vampire stories and demons, but like fantasy/sci fi/romance). This book is amazingly good for a debut novel! I couldn't put it down. The chemistry was strong and hot, Jorlan was a true alpha male, but Katie could hold her own. I enjoyed her interactions with her overprotective brothers! I truly enjoy the rare novel with a tall heroine, as I am tall myself (5'10" to Katie's 6'), but I get very annoyed with reviewers (here on the website and on the back of the book) referring to Katie as an "" simply because she is tall! Does that mean that all short heroines should be referred to as midgets??!! Enough with the stereotyping.

At any rate, this book was truly a wonderful, engrossing, satisfying read. I was sorry to see it end. I'm enjoying Showalter so much, I may even have to try at least one of her later, paranormal books (but not a vampire one).
Poor Katie James. She's fallen in lust with the hunky statue in her garden. If only he were a real man...

Poor Jorlen en Sarr. He's been cursed to spend the rest of his life imprisoned in a stone jail in unless he gets a kiss...

Lucky for us, Katie is so worked up by her lackluster love life and the granite god in her backyard that she gives in to desire and impulsively kisses the statue, releasing Jorlen from his curse for a time. He's got two weeks to make Katie fall in love with him or he'll end up a monument forever.

Further complicating things is Jorlen's views on women. He may be from a different planet but his attitude about women is strictly earth caveman. Katie isn't having any of it, and he soon sees that a strong woman is a good woman.

Katie soon realizes it's only a matter of time before she gives in to Jorlen's seductive charms, even though she knows when he returns to his home planet, she'll never see him again.

The Stone Prince is super sexy, tons of fun, and over too soon. Vivid descriptions, great characters, and quick pacing make this book a keeper. I will NOT be lending this one out. Buy your own!

Even with the profusion of hyphenated phrases, The Stone Prince is a four star read. The premise is fresh, and hot doesn't do this story justice. The chemistry between Katie and Jorlen is nuclear, and really keeps the pages turning.

Showalter's voice is welcome change from so many of the cookie cutter books being published today. This is a great first book from an author with a long future ahead of her.
This is definitely a prince of a story, and a book!!! Jorlan and Katie's tale is a wonderfully sensual romance...if you are a fan of the author, DON'T MISS THIS BOOK!!!
'I love a dominant man, but don't let one tell me what to do!'
This pretty much sums up this book!
Jorlan? Yeah... I love that his dominant and that he knows what he wants, but that who women need to be protected thing...
That' what I thought at the beginning of this book, but much like Katie, I fell in love with Jorlan by the end of the story.
Sweet, steamy, and oh so good, I loved it so much that I bought the audiobook just so I could listen to it over and over again!
